DIAMOND POSSE RIDES 2,000 MILES TO SUPPORT AMERICA’S VETERANS
Female Motorcyclists Ride to Raise Funds, and Support Awareness and Recovery for Veteran’s
On May 16, 2010, the Diamond Posse, a group of five female motorcyclists with diverse backgrounds, will depart San Antonio, Texas on an epic mission with the goal of giving hope and encouragement to veterans who are facing challenges as a result of their service in the US Military. During this 2,000-mile ride, they will increase awareness, raise funds and speak to local groups regarding the obstacles veterans face as a result of the sacrifices they have made to defend our Nation’s freedom.
The journey begins at the Center for the Intrepid at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, where the group will tour the facility and interview veterans who are rehabbing for their documentary film “Forged Under Pressure”. The ride continues to the VA Medical Centers in Dallas, Texas that afternoon. We are throwing out the call to all riders to meet these amazing women at the VA Center, and escort them to the Hard Rock Café in Downtown Dallas, to help them relax and celebrate the completion of the first leg of their journey. The Hard Rock is planning some specials in honor of the Diamond Posse, with proceeds going to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (for more information, visit
http://fallenheroesfund.org/).
The group will continue on to four additional VA Medical Centers in Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa. In Wisconsin the women will join a motorcycle ride with Vietnam Veterans to do the LZ Lambeau honor ride leaving LaCrosse on May 21st. entering into Lambeau Field where the traveling Vietnam wall and museum will be set up. LZ Lambeau is a “homecoming” for many vets from the Vietnam War era who were never properly welcomed home. The group will end their journey on Saturday, May 22nd with a grand finale as they ride 100 miles from Green Bay to Milwaukee escorted by the New Glory Flag Bike Team to open Harley-Davidson’s Women Rider’s Celebration at the Harley Davidson museum.
The women of the Diamond Posse represent a combined passion for motorcycling, motorcycle safety and supporting Veterans who keep our country free and safe (
http://fallenheroesfund.org/). Through their life experience, these women have been forged under pressure, thus creating the Diamond in Diamond Posse. To follow their journey, visit their blog on Facebook by becoming a fan of Diamond Posse.
All funds generated during the ride will go to the Fallen Heroes Fund which supports the Center for the Intrepid. To learn more, donate or to sponsor the ride, visit

10> Texas Motorcycle Drag Racing – Tulsa,OK – June 6

Date: 5/10/2010
From:
jimsleazy@juno.com

June 6, 2010, Sunday, Texas Motorcycle Drag Racing will be presenting an ALL-BIKE drag racing event at the TULSA RACEWAY Park at Tulsa, Oklahoma.  There will be Nitro Top Fuelers invading this side of the Mississippi River to declare their spot in history as the winner. Hosting this event is the “Pride of Tulsa” Red Racing’s very own Lonnie Red. Not only will the Nasty, Monster Harleys be there but motorcycles of all kinds and makes will declare their place in history.  I want to thank our major sponsors – Route 66 Harley-Davidson of Tulsa, Metric Cycles, Fas Coonass Racing, Skunk Dots Biker News Magazine, and TMFC Racing.
All sportsman pay $20 to race. We have 30 plus classes of Heads-up racing for just about every type of bike made.   With these heads-up classes, they allow you to race only against your own make of bike. To qualify for the big KING of the CASH, we take EACH class Winner and ask them for a dial-index for bracket racing eliminations.  The last man standing –WINS THE CASH!!!  My first sportsman winner won almost a GRAND!!!   We offer Turbo Metric – bikes with boxes. The lovely and talented Tracy Farr out of her business, Metric Cycles, will be struttin’ her stuff. I also have TWO classes of all mixed bike bracket racing. STREET ET under 12.99 and STREET ET over 13.00 on the quarter mile track. We’ve recently opened a Harley-Davidson V-Rod Destroyer class which Jim Strickland owns and he is out of Route 66 Harley Davidson. There are big rumors that the Harley Nostalgia Top Fuel bikes will have a full class of eight – so they’ll be making me pay out the big bucks.  Harley Top Gas always has a great showing. The STREET ET classes have to be RUN-WHAT-YA-RIDE everyday.
We’ve added a bonus event by special request…KING of the STREETS.  This means your bike must run on “pump” gas.  Special tech time will be between 10-noon.  Then you saddle-up for a ride off the track between noon-1pm.  All racers will pay $20 for tech card-winner’s win comes out of kitty.  When you return to track, there are two classes – light weight (600cc to 900cc) and heavy weight (1000cc to 1400cc).  There will be a mandatory ride for all of these racers and a gas station fill up.  After tech we will put names in hat and will draw who will run against who.  All riders must have jacket, full face helmet, long pants, boots, and gloves for the track like everyone else.
Also, on June 5th, the day before, this track is having their own motorcycle event, check their web site
www.tulsaraceway.com.  Come up for the whole weekend – for two different events – stay over nite on track Saturday nite – with gates locked up – for our event Sunday.  A WHOLE WEEKEND OF MOTORCYCLLE DRAG RACING.
Vendors will be there with their “biker life-style” products. They set-up FREE with gate admission – please call ahead.  Don’t forget about the BURNOUT contest and, of course, the ever-popular BIKINI CONTEST…the faint-at-heart need not be present.  There’s a Junior Class that has to follow the “big racers” rules. So be prepared to satisfy your “NEED FOR SPEED” addiction from the professional “ADDICTED SPEED FREAKS” personally!  Gates open 8am, 10:30am qualifying, 1pm eliminations.  Adults $20, kids under 12 free.  FOR MORE INFO
