REGARDING VENDORS:
After Mother’s Day weekend I received several phone calls from irate Vendors. It appears they had attended a rally where they were treated very poorly and several items that were on the schedule never happened as advertised.
I would like to stress that before Vendors (and/or Attendees) commit to any event that ya’ll do some research regarding the event. Skunk Dots and many others post events as a service to the motorcycle community to let you know what’s coming up. However, we do not have the manpower to research each and every one that is sent to us for posting.
To me, a rally wouldn’t be a rally without our Vendors. They travel far and near to set up their sites and try to make an honest living. Vendors can make (or break) a rally – so let’s make sure they’re treated fairly and with respect. ~Ms. Skunk

Our last party with the "Roomshakers" was a huge success thanks to all that showed up. In fact it was so good, we’re doing it again. But this time it’s in the name of helping out a friend of the Boozefighters and all the clubs in the area, who is in a bad way.

Sandy Waterman was involved in a serious bike accident in Dalworthington Gardens, Texas on March 9, 2009. Sandy was on his way to work when a truck pulled out in front of him. After several weeks in ICU he has been moved to a care facility in Plano. SANDY NEEDS OUR HELP!!!! Plan to come out and ride from Justin to Saint Jo then to Muenster and back to Lake Dallas where a live auction will be held. Run is approximately 120 miles with stops at the Decatur Powersports, Biker Roadhouse Saint Jo, Smokehouse Lindsay, and the Flying Pig Lake Dallas.

The 18th Annual Ride To Work Day is a month away, and this year the weaker economy is causing many commuters to turn to motorcycles and scooters to save money on transportation. These new everyday riders are finding cycles and scooters to be an economical, efficient and enjoyable way to get to work and around town. Because of the world-wide depression, this year is expected to be the largest Ride to Work Day demonstration ever, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit organization
According to the United States Census Bureau and the Department of Transportation, over eighty million cars and light trucks are used for daily commuting on American roads, and about 200,000 motorcycles and scooters are a regular part of this mix. On Ride To Work Day, the practical side of riding becomes more visible as a larger number of America’s 8,000,000 cycles are ridden to work.
Ride to Work Day helps demonstrate how these vehicles make parking easier and help traffic flow better. Studies have shown that across equal distances, commuting motorcyclists reach their destinations in less time than those using automobiles, that motorcycles and scooters consume less resources per mile than automobiles, and that they take up less space on roads. Motorcycle and scooter riders seek improved employer recognition and support for this form of transportation, and more public and government awareness of the positive value of riding.
Changes to the Ride To Work website include new forum areas, and additional free promotional support materials.
